Flickr Finds

After discovering the photography website, Flickr, I got a major self-esteem drop. Just by searching through endless amount of photographers, I found so many of them with photos that I absolutely fell in love with. One photographer really stood out to me, and his name is J.J. Wright. J.J's photo's are creative, full of depth, and most of them have a sort of vintage-y color to them. If you don't know what Flickr is, and you like photography, I would encourage you to sign up and take a look at some of these people's photos. Here is more of J.J's work.

My favorite thing about J.J's photography is that his style is unique, and imperfect. I really like the middle photo because it has a really neat color tone to it.

What do you think is unique about J.J's photography?

NC Asheboro Zoo

These pictures were taken at the Asheboro zoo this past Sunday. The weather was a little uncomfortably cold, but other than that it was a good trip. My favorite part was hearing the chimps literally scream at everyone, it was really funny. I was kind of disappointed though, because I didn't get to catch any pictures of the giraffes. They also have a really cool aviary and desert exhibit, it was nice to go in there and warm up a bit. The first picture, the hummingbird, was my favorite. The second picture, the bobcat, was nice because of the quality.

Lastly, I wanted to throw the picture of the chimps in there because they look so happy.
Which animal would be your favorite to photograph?

Life in Downtown Concord

This is a photograph of the courthouse in downtown Concord, North Carolina. I chose the courthouse as my subject because it is has some of the best architectural detail. The first photograph below, was just a straight-on picture.
The picture on the right is at an angle, which gives the photo more depth. I really like how the sky was so blue, but I was a little disappointed that I couldn't really get more in the picture.

Does the picture appeal to you more when it is straight-on, or when it is at an angle?

This picture on the left is probably my favorite. At first, I just planned on taking the picture because I thought the gazebo was interesting, but then I realized how you could see the graveyard through it. I thought this was really cool and it made me love it even more.

The picture below, however, was just me messing around with the camera, trying to test how close I could get to the berries. I turned out really liking them. The soft background kind of makes them pop out more.

Which photo is your favorite and why? Which is your least favorite and why?
